Sneak Peek – April 2006

April is going to be a busy month. We will be releasing 4 new catalogs, and 1 new multiplayer game. Plus there will be an Easter Egg hunt, and a couple more new rooms. Weekend Update!
G’day Penguins!
First of all, some of you may have noticed we launched our first Australian servers today. A special thank you to all the Aussies who have been patiently using other servers until now. Enjoy!
Also, we’ve been working ####### the “buddies trapped in my igloo” bug and we thought we had fixed it yesterday. Unfortunately, the fix created some other problems so we had to go back to the way it was before. Hopefully we should have it fixed once and for all early next week. We apologize to those of you may have “lost connection” because we had to restart the servers.
In other news: We’re getting ready for a lot of cool stuff coming up in April. We’ve got the April Fools Day party, new contests, 4 new catalogs (Igloo, Clothing, Pets, & Furniture), A huge Easter egg hunt, a new multiplayer game and lots. more! Also, don’t forget the classified “thing” is starting next week.
Also, the tours have been great! There have literally been hundreds of tours happening throughout Club Penguin and the new penguins have been very thankful. Please help out your fellow penguins by continuing to give tours and answer questions. You might just make some new friends!

Here’s A “Thank You!” For Your Help
Hello Penguins!
The development team has been working hard trying to think of a cool way to thank you all for the help you’ve been giving to the new penguins by answering questions and giving tours.
We decided it would be fun to show you a little “behind the scenes” of the way we build the penguins and their clothing. These were captured right off “Screenhog’s” computer, enjoy!
We’d love to hear what its been like to give tours and do other helpful things for new players. Comment us your story and we’ll post as many as we can.

We Need You!
Hello Penguins!
We hope you’re all enjoying your new puffles! We have received a lot of great comments and ideas about them so thanks for sending those in.
As you can tell, Club Penguin continues to grow which can be a lot of fun for some but confusing for others. The good news is that this allows us to spend even more time and effort making Club Penguin even better.
You may be wondering, “What does Club Penguin need me for?” Well, many of you have been hanging out in Club Penguin for quite a while and you know your way around. We’re looking for people to act as “tour guides” to help show others around. You don’t have to do anything special, just go into a room filled with penguins and ask, “Who wants a tour?” You would be surprised at how grateful new players are to have someone show them around. We’ve had some penguins do this and then 15-20 penguins follow them from room to room as they talk about everything and answer questions.
We want Club Penguin to be a place where everyone feels welcome and people help each other!
In other news: We are still hoping to add the “buddy indicator” to the server list. This will tell you which servers have buddies in them. Its more complicated than we thought it would be, but we’re working hard and we will launch it as soon as we can.

Adoption Has Begun!

Finally the puffles are ready!

The puffles are finally ready for launch. Tomorrow, March 17th the pet shop will open you can start adopting your own puffles. Remember all players can adopt at least one blue puffle, members can adopt more than one puffle.

Buddy List Bug
Hello Penguins!
We just wanted to give you an update on the buddy list bug. It has turned out to be a tough one to find and an even tougher one to squash, but we think we’re close to getting rid of it.
Thanks for your patience while we hunted it down. We know its a bummer to not be able to find your friends, but hopefully you can enjoy some fishing or dream of the puffles in the mean time.
We’ll let you know as soon as it has been squashed.

New Fishing Game!
Hello Penguins!
We hope you’re all enjoying the new fishing game! We sure had a lot of fun making it. For those of you who are wondering about the board game, it is still in production, but we were able to finish this one first, so we launched it first. The board game we be launched as soon as its done.
In other news: We had a bit of a server glitch this afternoon that took us a while to fix. It turns out we have had so many new penguins join that our database was a little backed up. We gave the server some “ex-lax” and all seems to be working well now. Sorry for those of you who had difficulty logging in.

Its almost here!
Hello Penguins!
The pet shop is coming along well and we’re all getting really excited about the Big Puffle Party!
Here’s a few hints at what the puffles will be like:
- There are four different colors, blue, black, green, and pink
- They all have different personalities and each one requires special care
- You will be able to name it and “make it your own”
- Everyone will be able to adopt at least one
- The cost isn’t final yet, but they will be under 1000 coins
- If you don’t feed and take care of them, they will run away
- They are all cute, fun, and nice!
Puffles will add a whole new way to have fun in Club Penguin and we hope it will continue to make it better than ever!
In other news: We’re done with the servers now so hopefully you’re all enjoying the increased speed. We know all of that took some patience and we appreciate it. As an official thank you , we’re launching a new game this weekend that is a lot of fun. We hope you like it! It is just the first of many that will be out in the next few months.

New Catalog! (and other new stuff)
Hello Penguins!
The new catalog is officially launched and we hope you like it! We’ve put a lot of work into adding shoes and it seems like people are really enjoying them!
Another big change is that we added layering. This means you can finally play guitar with your favorite jacket on or wear a Bow Tie with an apron. This also allows for even more items in the future. FUN FACT: Now that we have added layering there are over 1 million clothing combinations!
Also, you asked for it and we listened. Coffee aprons are now available (with a secret action item). Now you can serve up hot coffee for all your friends at the local coffee shop.
In other news: It seems most of the server issues are fixed now and Club Penguin should be running better than ever. Please let us know if you are still experiencing any difficulties.

Developer Update!
Hello Penguins!
Here’s an update on what we’ve been working on this week.
Wallpapers – We hope you enjoy the new wallpapers available on the home page under “Fun Stuff.” We will keep adding more fun stuff in the future.
Coin Bug Fixed – Your player card should now display the correct amount of coins.
New Pizza Emote (Thursday release) – Now you can have a pizza icon for the Pizza Parlor
New Hidden Emote (Thursday release)- TOP SECRET
Penguin Shoes – This Friday’s catalog will be the first one to feature SHOES!! You’ve asked for it and we’ve delivered. There will be 3 different pairs to choose from in the first catalog, but we’ve already begun working on lots more.
New Login (Thursday release) – We had to rebuild the login in order to help the servers run faster. Hopefully there should be less slowdowns in the game.
Server Updates – We continue to work ####### the servers to improve their speed. We have make a lot of changes already and we hope to make more in the next few days.

PETS! We can’t give a lot of details right now, but look for next weeks development news to include a screenshot of the inside of the pet shop.
